Homecoming Dance

Well, Gabby is off to her dance. I'll be picking her up at 11pm.

She spent the day getting pampered with a manicure and pedicure.
She went with blue nail polish on the fingers and the toes.

The pictures will explain the color choice.

This is a picture her and her girlfriend in our sunroom.
Gabby is in the black the ribbon is blue. Thus the blue nail polish.

After all the pampering, she did her own hair.
I think she did a pretty good job.
Then it was off to another friends house to help others get ready and for pictures.

This is a good one of her girlfriends. Keep in mind the majority of these girls are VERY athletic. They clean up pretty good.

This is her guy friend that she has a crush on.
She says that they have more of a sister/brother relationship.
Yah, I'm not so sure about that.

I know I am probably kidding myself in wanting to keep my kids safe and naive.
They have already grown up so much that I just want them to slow down and enjoy their middle and high school years. I'm still telling them that boys have cooties!
You think that will work for another 2 years?

I think we would be better off to just keep a shotgun by the door!

Gotta love this fun shot. They are both such hams but Gabby literally poses (the picture with her hand on her hip) yah. That is our oldest!

Abby helped her to get ready. Thanks Abby!

Whew - I am glad this weekend is almost over.

Tomorrow my nephew has a birthday party and who turns down a meal AND cake? Ryan and Liam have birthday's one day apart. They are a year apart in age. Liam is 5 and is having a Star Wars party. Should be fun and I am seriously looking forward to that cake. Can ya tell?

Blessings on your Sunday!

Hugs!

Homecoming Parade and the BIG Game!

If one word could explain our night it would have to be.....

FUN!

It all started with the parade and, of course, I need to show you in picture form.

Of course, all parades have candy!

The top picture is the freshman volleyball float and the second is the poster that Gabby did up for the float. She did not get to ride with her teammates as she had to march in the band.

Just in case you thought we did not live in a hick town. This guys was nice enough to NOT wash his truck before getting to the parade. Nice EH?!

Did I mention there was candy?

This was one of our favorite floats! The nerd club got together and created a candy throwing machine. Because.........it is easier to create a machine instead of flicking your wrist and tossing. I have to say the crowd LOVED it!

This is Abby's softball float. She is the one on the left - kinda hard to see in the shadows. She was hiding so she would not end up on the blog.

Too late kiddo!

Here is Gabby marching in the band. We finally got her to laugh!!

OK, I swear she was not dressed like this when she sent to school!

She is SO embarrassing!!!

This is my bosses daughter. She was running and getting the "good" candy. Yellow and pink laffy taffy! She is such a good girl!!!!

There was SO MUCH candy that this is what was left on the ground!

We could feed a third world country with all that candy!!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE............

Now, on to the big game.

Here are the boys.
Don't they look GREAT?!

The boys are getting ready to run onto the field.
Yes, that is a giant blow up Eagle.
Parents club gets a bit over zealous don't ya think?!

And they finally hit the field!
This was pretty much the most excitement the whole night.
We lost 21-0.

OUCH!

The other team plays dirty so we ended up with 6 guys carried off the field.
Not to make excuses or anything - they did not play their best game
but really, should helmets pop off when you are playing football????

After the game we invited some folks over for some ice cream.

Now, my tummy doesn't feel good. Thus the reason for posting at 1:40am.

I need to go to bed. There is much to be done tomorrow to beautify Gabby.

NO! Gabby does not have a date :} She is going with a group of girls and guys. One of the guys she finds pretty special but she is only 14 (and a half) gotta get that in :} Dating age is 16 AND a phone call to ask her daddy. Wonder how many takers we will have with that stipulation?!

That is for another post :}

Hope you enjoyed our evening at the parade and football game!!

Hugs!

Homecoming Weekend!

THE RAIN HAS STOPPED!
This week has been a blur and as I type, Gabby is working on a poster for the homecoming parade tomorrow. I know, it is late!

Monday I went shopping with a girlfriend and took her out to lunch for her birthday. I had onion rings - they were YUMMY! After lunch I headed home to mow the grass. I had to mow it twice.

Yes, you read that right.

TWICE!
After mowing I headed in to get going on cleaning the house and doing some laundry.

I continue to clean bedding and pillows because I have become a crazy women when it comes to bugs, if you know what I mean.

About 9pm, I finally finished cleaning the upstairs.

Tuesday is bible study at church and then I headed home to mow our neighbors lawn.

TWICE!

Our girls were to mow Monday night, bbbbbuuuuuttttttt........

IT RAINED!

After mowing AGAIN, I had to get our main floor cleaned and the laundry finished.

Abby had late basketball practice including a parents meeting and Gabby had a volleyball game. I went to the parents meeting and Bill went to the volleyball game.

We all finally made it home about 9pm and had supper.
Yep, that's right - supper at 9pm - Taco Salad.

It was YUMMY!

Wednesday I got to weigh in at weight watchers. Still within 2lbs of my goal weight - WHEW!

After weighing in I headed to work, picked up the girls from practices and headed home.

Today I got to get my nails done and then went into work. I should not have to go in tomorrow unless they call with an order.

Bill is taking the day off tomorrow so he is going to mow our grass.
AGAIN!
And I'll mow the neighbors.....

AGAIN!

I think we are going to do some shopping for him and then we get to go to the homecoming parade and football game. The girls are in the parade so they are excited. I'll try to get some pictures loaded by Saturday. Gabby is going to the homecoming dance on Saturday night. She gets to have a pedicure and a manicure but will do her own hair. More pictures will be load of that fun too!

Sorry, nothing funny going on this week. Maybe the fun will come tomorrow :}

Listen....it is quiet!

Can you hear it? Silence! I can only hear the bugs singing and the sump pump running.

The rain has finally stopped.

But not before basements have flooded and rivers have risen. I know that last night alone we received at least 5 inches of rain! One of the ladies at church dumped her rain gauged twice in the last 3 days. Many people were home bailing to keep the water from doing too much damage. I am so thankful for a dry basement. Many in our subdivision don't.

It looks to be a beautiful week which I am thankful for! Gabby has homecoming on Saturday night and I am anxious to get to a football game Friday night. The temps look to be perfect for next weekend and that will make for a wonderful homecoming weekend.

Someone will have to mow the grass tomorrow. I have a house to clean and am going out to lunch with a girlfriend tomorrow. She is my weight watchers buddy and we have missed each other all summer. She has 5 kids and is working part time at Brighton. Needless to say, with the girls softball and her 5 kids, we have not gotten to see each other all summer. We are both having withdrawal!! After lunch I think we are going to do some shopping. Should be a good time!!! Then back home to finish cleaning.

Time to go spend some time with my love. Y'all have a great night!

Hugs!
