Just another Saturday....

After last nights football game (yep, we won!) we brought home a couple of extra girls for a sleepover. Abby got to do some babysitting and we all got home about the same time. It was great night for a football game. Cold but not much wind.

Abby has a basketball game this morning that my DH is attending. It is over an hour away and Gabby has a band competition that she needs to be at soooo we are split up for the morning. We will head over to the band competition this afternoon but are happy to say we have nothing going on tonight.

Gabby is mowing the grass right now and I have gotten the ironning done and am working on some laundry. Not much else to do.

It is a beautiful fall day here today and we are loving it! The trees are starting to turn and the temps are going to be in the low 70's upper 60's for the next week. To me, this is PERFECT!

Life is good :}

Hugs!

Dear John letter

Dear young man that invited my daughter to your party,

Please don't think that we don't like you,
we have not met you
so we don't know if we like you or not.

That is not the point.

You see our rule is NO BOY PARTIES.

Yes, we realize that our daughter is lots of fun to have at a party.
Where do you think she got her great whit?

That's right, dude,
her mom is a true party animal
(as long as the party is over by 9pm).

Our daughter is very unhappy about this issue.
But she does not always have good insight into these types of things.

In fact, she rarely sees our viewpoint.
But, she does know the rule that has been in place for at least a decade.

We have tried to instill the difference between girls and guys - most of all the fact that boys do indeed have cooties and that, yes, they usually smell bad at some point during any given day.

So, please accept our decision to not allow our daughter to attend your party.

You may be a very nice boy, but we don't know that and must do everything in our power to protect what is left of our daughter's innocence.

You see, we only get one chance at this parenting thing and we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with.

Sincerely,
The parents of the girl who is NOT coming to your party

Moms with boys - do you allow your sons to invite girls over for a party? Are we completely off base on this issue? Not that we will change our rule but really, what do you do when it comes to this issue?

Let me know what ya know cause I wanna know, you know :}

Hugs to all!

What have I Done?!

I did it again girls!

I have failed!

Seriously.
Dropped.
the.
Ball.

I just couldn't do it!

I know you are wondering.....

What,
what
have
you
done?

Here it is.....

I know what will happen.....

You will shake your head in disbelief.

You will be thinking,
when will she learn?

*BIG SIGH INSERTED HERE*

I have agreed to help with baking 500+ cupcakes for a HUGE fundraiser at school.

WHAT WAS I THINKING?

I know, I know,

I WASN'T!

October 14th the volleyball teams at the high school are doing a Serve for the Cure night to help raise funds for breast cancer. It being breast cancer awareness month and all. Great idea right?! I thought so too.

Until, I was caught unaware. Simply enjoying a volleyball game and minding my own business. Then, WHAM, it hits. This little voice from the lady next to me.

Would you take care of getting the cupcakes organized for the 14th?

Sooooo, here we go.

1. email all the parents to see who is willing to help. (done)
2. await responsed from parents. (waiting - is anyone out there?)
3. figure out how much money to get from each kid so we can make all the cupcakes. (can't even go there tonight - help anyone?!)
4. arrange for enough parents to pick up all the ingredients they need and get them to help with the baking (we have 6 parents so far including me)
5. get all the cupcakes to school and get them decorated (this will be a feat all into itself)
6. arrange the selling of the cupcakes and pray they ALL sell (guys eat anything right?!)

My brain is screaming in mass confusion and thinking everything I heard you all say (see above post).

Why can't I listen to all my blogger buddies when they are trying to help me?!

I will the next time.....PINKY PROMISE!

For tonight, I need my cuddly pink robe and some ice cream (of which we have NONE!)

*HUGH SIGH OF DISGUST FOR MY LACK OF ICE CREAM*

PUMPKIN PIE!

As I sit here all wrapped in my cuddly soft pink robe
(because I bought it a month ago and have been dying to wear it - it is finally cold enough!),
I can still smell ice cream in my hair.

I spent most of my day at work and am excited to say that our store has the first official pumpkin pies for the fall season.

I have not made them before but they were super fun and super easy!!

Tomorrow I am hoping to actually taste some of the pumpkin ice cream.

Besides the pies I got 12 cakes done thanks for the gals that made the cakes to start with. They were a huge blessing to me today!

Time for me to enjoy the rest of my evening. Praying that you enjoy yours!!

Hugs!

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I got nothing tonight!

Absolutely.
Positively.
Nothing.

Oh, wait! We had this happen tonight:

My eldest decided to tell me to "chill" tonight in a most disrespectful tone.

Yeah, that made me real happy!

To her dispair, she also said it in front of my hubs.

Bad move, kiddo!

She was promptly put into her place and humbled with an apology to me.

This made for a pretty quiet night as she finished her homework, grabbed her shower and headed for bed.

At least I heard the beloved, I heart you, before she went off to bed.

I heart her too!

Note, to my youngest - don't repeat sisters actions.

Hope your day was better than mine :}

Hugs,
Jeanette
